How to prepare for your Notary appointment
Must be 18 years or older
Know the type of notarization needed.
Ensure the document is completed in all areas required.
Ensure you have VALID and ACCEPTABLE IDENTIFICATION.
Name listed on your documents matches your ID.
All signers on the document must be present including witnesses for notarization.
Ensure you understand the document you are signing.
Know the associated fees for the service you need.
In order to serve as a witness, the witness must personally know the person whose document is being notarized and must be in possession of valid photo identification.
Valid photo identification is required for all signee and witness seeking notary service
New Jersey law requires that a notary and anyone seeking notarization must be able to communicate directly with each other. CNW Notary Services is not permitted to make use of a translator to communicate with a notary service customer
Original documents must be presented for all copy certification. Vital records (birth, death and marriage certificates) cannot be notarized.
