Acceptable Forms of Identification

A Notary is required to have the signer provide at least one form of identification that contains the signer's signature. Having the proper identification will make the notary process seamless.

Examples of proper identification include:

• State issued photo Driver’s License

• State issued Identification card

• U.S. Passport /Passport Card

• USCIS Permanent Resident Card

• U.S. military ID card with the required photograph, description of the person, signature of the person, and an identifying number. Note: Some military identification cards do not contain all the required information.

• Identification may not be required if the signer is personally known to the notary public.
